Funeral services for Herbert A. Brown, 72, of Texarkana, Arkansas, who died at 6:45pm Saturday in a Texarkana hospital following a long illness, will be held at 2pm today at Bethel Baptist Church near Coushatta. The Rev. Larry Joyner will officiate and will be assisted by the Rev. Albert Richardson.

Burial will be in the Bethel Cemetery under the direction of Rose Neath Funeral Home of Coushatta.

Mr. Brown was a native of Red River Parish. He was a retired carpenter.

Survivors include two sons, Claude Brown of Pineville, Louisiana and Harold Brown of Texarkana, Arkansas; two daughters, Mrs. E.W. Lacy of Texarkana, Arkansas and Mrs. E.B. Sistrunk of Cullen, Louisiana; one brother, Clarence Brown of Hall Summit, Louisiana; two sisters, Mrs. Lizzie Snead of Castor, Louisiana and Mrs. Lula Smith of Minden, Louisiana.

• His obituary was published in the in the Texarkana Gazette on 7 January 1964 in Texarkana, Bowie County, Texas.

Funeral services for Herbert A. Brown, 72, of 512 Grand, who died Saturday, were held Monday, January 6, at Bethel Baptist Church near Coushatta, Louisiana.

Officiating were Bro. Larry Joyner, Pastor of Bethel Baptist Church and Bro. Albert Richardson of Social Spring Church.

Pallbearers were Lonnie Harley, Frank Smith, William Smith, Merce L. Snead, Alton Snead and Thurman Davis.

He was a Veteran of WWI.

Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Edward Lacy of Texarkana, Arkansas and Mrs. E.B. Sistrunk of Cullen, Louisiana; two sons, Claude E. Brown of Pineville, Louisiana and Harold M. Brown of Texarkana, Arkansas; two sisters, Mrs. G.W. Snead of Castor, Louisiana and Mrs. Dan Smith of Minden, Louisiana; a brother, Clarence Brown of Hall Summit, Louisiana and eleven grandchildren.
